  • ICPMG 2026 (11th International Conference on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics)

    08.06.2026 - 12.06.2026
    ETH - Hönggerberg, Zürich, Schweiz

    Dear Colleagues and Friends,

You are warmly invited to the 11th InternationalConference on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics (ICMPG 2026), which will takeplace in ETH Zurich, Switzerland, 8–12 June 2026!

The conference will take place on the ETH ZurichHönggerberg Campus, which is located just 15 minutes (with a direct bus link)from Zurich city center.

ICPMG 2026 aims to provide a dynamic forum for academics, engineers, researchers, technicians and students, where the latest developmentsin modelling techniques, technologies, similitude laws, and all other aspectsof physical modelling in geotechnics will be discussed.

The conference will offer an up-to-date overview of thelatest developments in multi-scale physical modelling within the followinggeneral themes:

    -          New facilities, new equipment, and measuringtechniques

    -          Scalinglaws and fundamentals

    -         Resilient Geotechnical Infrastructure

    -         Sustainability in Geotechnical Systems

    -          Energygeo-structures and foundation systems

    -          Onshoreand offshore foundation systems

Besides centrifuge modelling, studies based on 1g shaketable and large scale testing are warmly welcome, as well as research thatcombines numerical and physical modelling.

Special Issue at the International Journal of PhysicalModelling in Geotechnics

A key novelty of the Conference is the Special Issue atthe International Journal of Physical Modelling in Geotechnics. Instead ofselecting papers after the Conference, the Special Issue is initiated inadvance, aiming to attract the best papers in the field. Through this call forpapers (please see attached), we invite colleagues to submit their best work inthe subject area. After going through a rigorous review process, the papersthat will be accepted for publication in the Special Issue will also beallocated an increased time for presentation in ICPMG 2026, thus being in thespotlight.

For more detailed information please see:

Opening date for manuscript submissions: 14 February 2025

Closing date for manuscripts submission: 31 October 2025

Naturally, in addition to the IJPMG Special Issue papers, the participants will have the opportunity to submit standard conference papersand/or extend abstracts.

The call for conference papers and extended abstractswill follow shortly.

We are looking forward to your active participation, and kindly ask you to forward the announcement to your networks.
