We wish Prof. Laurent Vulliet all the best for his retirement and would like to thank him very much for the successful cooperation over the many years and for his commitment to the students, the research and the industry.
Here is a short summary of his career:
Experienced Board Member with ten years as CEO of an international engineering firm. Professor at EPFL in Geotechnical Engineering and past Dean. Recognized expertise in the built and natural environment, risk management, and business strategy and organization. Leading role in setting new vision in multicultural environments.
Laurent Vulliet is Honorary Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). In addition, he sits in various boards and foundation councils and serves as consultant (geotechnical engineering, business strategy, risk management).
Laurent Vulliet holds a Civil Engineering degree from the ETH Zurich and a PhD from the EPFL. He conducted research and teaching activities at the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA, and in various international universities. He also graduated from the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD Fontainebleau and from the Swiss Board School.
Member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences and Past Vice-President of the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA), Laurent Vulliet was Dean of the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering at EPFL.
